Illinois Catholic Church Sexual Misconduct Investigation

Sauder Schelkopf is investigating potential lawsuits on behalf of individuals who were victims of sexual misconduct by church officials in Illinois. In the wake of the Pennsylvania grand jury report released to the public in August 2018 naming the priests accused of sexual abuse, Attorneys General and Archdioceses across the country have opened investigations into sexual abuse by church officials. The Pennsylvania grand jury report alone detailed the decades of alleged abuse of more than 1,000 child victims by 300 “predator” priests. At least seven priests named in the Pennsylvania report have connections to Illinois. The Illinois Attorney General expects all six Illinois dioceses to fully cooperate.
